Melissa says,“Isn’t this what It wants?
“, with"It"being a reference to the wilderness.
Taissa and Shauna were knocked unconscious and in danger of dying after Melissa closed the fireplace flue.
Teenage Van also says that"Surviving this was never the reward.
Taissa has just lost the love of her life and she will be intent on getting revenge against Melissa.
This cannot be allowed to happen as Van died after getting the real Taissa to come back.
With Van gone, Taissa will need to live in a way that honors Van’s memory.
As for Shauna, her natural inclination will be hunting down and killing Melissa.
