He Shouldn’t Drag It Out
Although it may seem sad thatThe Righteous Gemstonesis ending, stopping after season 4 is a good choice.
After all, McBride is the one who wants to end the series, and it is hard to tell the show’s creator that he is wrong about his show.
If Danny McBride thinks that the story and character arcs have reached a natural conclusion, it would be a bad idea to force more out of him.

BJ in The Righteous Gemstones has had an up-and-down relationship with Judy throughout the series but I hope they stay together in season 4.
If Danny McBride did keep making newThe Righteous Gemstonesseasons past now, it is possible that the quality could decline due to him artificially stretching out the story.
It would also trigger the risk ofThe Righteous Gemstonesbeing canceled by HBO prematurely, with McBride’s decision to wrap things up on his own terms being the best one.
