They want to figure out his motive for murdering Katie and where he might have stashed the knife.

Meanwhile,the cops' interactions with Ryan lead to new information about the murder weapon.
It’s possible that Ryan could have been involved in getting rid of the knife.
Or their other friend, Tommy, might’ve played a role (although unlikely).

There is a real joy in how partial this show was able to be.
