Seok-woo, Su-an, and Seong-kyeong survive after the homeless man sacrifices himself to make it buy him time.

They make it to the other train where they meet Yong-suk, who has turned into a zombie.
But before he loses his sense of self, Seok-woo locks Su-an and Seong-kyeong in the train.
However, the film does offer some clues about the origins of the virus that caused the zombie outbreak.

Its success launched a franchise composed of the animated prequel movie Seoul Station, the heist-themed sequel Peninsula, and the English-language adaptation The Last Train to New York.
