However, the third season will not be the end of the franchise, as aSquid GameU.S.
However, it is currently unknown how the American spinoff will be connected to the Korean series.
However,there’s also a chance that the U.S. spinoff will be set up inSquid Gameseason 3.
If this is the case, then it’s likely that Gi-hun will once again fail in season 3.

However, setting up theSquid GameU.S.
spinoff in season 3 would be a smart strategy to get Korean audiences interested in the series.
Korean dramas have become a huge genre in recent years, and manyK-dramas on Netflixhave found incredible success.
Many Americans love K-dramas, but Netflix obviously also wants Korean viewers to watch American shows.
Because of this,Squid Gameseason 3 could theoretically set up multiple spinoffs that are set in other countries.
However, it’s likely that this would distract from the storyline of season 3.
Squid Gameseason 3 will be released on Netflix on June 27, 2025.
Therefore, I would not criticize the show if it did not tease the U.S. spinoff at all.
In fact, it may be better if the American spinoff is completely separate from the Korean show.
The quality ofSquid Gameseason 3 shouldn’t be impacted by the upcoming American series.
Perhaps Fincher will want to set the U.S. spinoff in a completely different continuity.
If this is the case, I would still be completely on board.
