After being tortured by Satan in hell, Lilith took it upon herself to escape to the human realm.
Maryanne is also an accomplished singer and is revealed to have an incredible voice.
The Bondsman follows backwoods bounty hunter Hub Halloran, who returns from the afterlife for a second chance at life and love, while navigating his past as a musician. As he resumes his work, he discovers his former occupation now involves a supernatural element.
This allows Lilith to embrace her knack for music.

Driven by selfishness, Hub accepts the deal and agrees to spare her.
With this, Lilith possesses a crow and flees while Sheryl remains alive.
With his deal, Hub manages to save himself from going to hell and even manages to revive Sheryl.
She also implies that she could kill Maryanne if Hub attempts to go against her.
She even shows him an artwork of the location, which helps Hub notice a pattern.
As a result, Lilith gets trapped and is forced to comply with Hub and Midge.
This gives Hub the perfect opportunity to shoot her human host dead and send her back to hell.
However, Lilith entices him with her deal and tricks him into setting her free.
He denies that he committed any sins and claims to be innocent.
