But this time, he isn’t alone.
During the Invincible War, Rex Splode finds himself facing off against one of the evil Invincibles.
Rex promises to distract the Invincible while the other Guardians of the Globe escape.
Rex then charges up his own skeleton, sacrificing himself to save his friends.

In the comics, Rae’s counterpart dies during the Lizard League’s invasion of the missile base.
However, theInvincibleshow keeps Rae alive, with her and Rex having a romantic arc.
This plays into Rex Splode’s redemption arc and gives the audience another reason to care about Rex.
Based on the comic book character by Robert Kirkman, Invincible follows Mark Grayson, a seventeen-year-old who leads a seemingly average life save for the fact that he lives behind the shadow of his superhero father, Omni-Man. Mark goes on to develop superhuman abilities, but he must also learn that his father’s legacy isn’t as glitzy and glamorous as he’s been led to believe.
