It was revealed that Charlotte was Harmony’s mother and that she was ill, needing end-of-life care.
The breathing tube was reportedly the only thing keeping her alive.

Or Was It Really Sissy?
One of the more short-lived mysteries ofSeveranceseason 2, episode 8 was who actually killed Charlotte.
However, Sissy later claims that Charlotte removed her own tube and ended her own life.
