There have been three live-actionMortal Kombatfilmsthat have featured the most popular characters from the video game franchise.

However, the first two films based on the fighting games were unfortunately not well-received.

This is why it was a relief when 2021’sMortal Kombatrebooted the franchise.

The reboot film introduced new versions of the most iconicMortal Kombatcharacters.

This means that many characters that didn’t appear in the 2021 film can be featured in the sequel.

Out of all ofMortal Kombat 2’scharacters, I am definitely most excited to see Quan Chi.

This deleted scene was meant to be included at the end ofMortal Kombat: Annihilation.

Since this happens in the lore of the games, this could potentially be explored in the sequel.

In doing so,Quan Chi will increase Outworld’s odds of winning the Mortal Kombat tournament against Earthrealm.
