Whatever the case, Callas continued singing publically for many years, despite the controversy surrounding her voice.
Callas was devastated, of course, when he left her.
Neither Callas nor Onassis confirmed this rumor during their lifetimes, though.
She technically retired from the stage in the 1960s.
Afterward, Callas attempted to fade into obscurity.
Some dispute her cause of death, but most have settled on a heart attack.
