Video game adaptations have well and truly been on the rise in recent years, andSecret Levelwill follow the success of Prime Video’sFalloutby continuing the trend of bringing established IPs into a televised format.

AlongsideFallout, the platform also releasedLike a Dragon: Yakuzain 2024 and has aTomb Raiderseries in the works, withSecret Leveladding to its catalog of gaming shows.

The cast includes some huge names, with Keanu Reeves, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Kevin Hart, Claudia Doumit, Ariana Greenblatt, and many more popular names all confirmed for the project, showing how enticinggood video game adaptationsare these days.Secret Levelwill feature 15 total episodes in its first season, and each of them will follow a different IP, with one being a mash-up of various PlayStation characters.

As a result, audiences will likely be curious about exactly what games are being adapted alongside what they’re about, especially as some of the franchises debuted as recently as 2024.

Despite debuting in 1997, Armored Core remains relevant today as the futuristic style of warfare continues to reinvent itself with each installment.

Playstation’s Canceled Hero Shooter Never Really Got Off The Ground

Despite its huge potential,Concordwas far from the success story Sony was looking for.

Having reportedly cost upwards of $200 million,Concord’sSecret Levelepisode feels even weirder after its cancelation, as Sony pulled the plug on the project just a few weeks after being released.

The hero shooter was supposed to compete with the likes ofOverwatch, but the lack of interesting characters or unique ideas led to its quick demise.

Players competed in teams of five against five other players in a variety of game modes, with 16 unique characters to choose from.

Despite its futuristic setting, the roster didn’t stand out enough from its competitors, and the $40 price tag didn’t help.Concorddid have some fun mechanics that worked well, and the graphics were also impressive, but ultimately the game followed the same hero shooter formula as other games on the market, with its lore barely getting off the ground.

UnlikeConcord,Crossfire’s reign has lasted much longer, as the tactical fps became one of the most popular shooters in Asia.

While it may not be a big name in the West,Crossfirefound its audience because of its simplistic gameplay and competitive nature.

The free-to-play game sees players face off against one another in classic game modes, such as Team Deathmatch and Free for all.

Despite many gamers being unaware of its existence, the game has earned over $10 billion, becoming one of the highest-grossing games of all time alongside spawning both movie and TV adaptations.

The Sci-Fi RPG Takes Place On A Hostile Planet

Although the game hasn’t yet gotten a release date,Exoduswill feature inSecret Level.

With the game yet to debut, details are limited on its premise, but the story takes place on a hostile planet after humans are forced to leave Earth.

In an attempt to survive, players will battle against alien forces known as Celestials, with the sci-fi action game already releasing plenty of trailers for the upcoming project.

It’s unclear how popularExoduswill become compared toSecret Level’s other games, but the unique story and quality cinematics are a positive early sign.

Prime Video’s new animated show, Secret Level, looks full of promise, giving me much more hope that one underrated project will finally return.
