The reason this is happening is thatthe 75th Primetime Emmy Awards were supposed to occur in September 2023.
TheEmmy Awards were rescheduled for January 2024due to 2023’s Hollywood strikes.
TheWGA strike ended when writers and studiosreached an agreement on September 25.
Meanwhile,the SAG-AFTRA strike ended after 118 daysin November.
However, although it took place in 2024, this ceremony was still for the 2022-2023 television season.
Any TV show that premiered between July 2023 and January 2024 was not a contender.
However, the contending periods did not change.
The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards will air on ABC on Sunday, September 15 at 8 p.m.
It might seem unfair at first glance, but it makes sense looking at the eligibility periods.
