However, 2017sAlien: Covenantfailed to provide this much-needed clarity.
ByAlien: Covenants ending, viewers had discovered what happened to Elizabeth Shaw and David after the events ofPrometheus.
It was not a direct sequel toPrometheus, meaning it didnt make the prequels labyrinthine plot any more understandable.
The return of David made it feel like a sequel, but a wholly unsatisfying one at that.
Thus, it is good news that anyAlien: Romulusfollow-up will take another approach afterRidley Scott’s disappointingPrometheussequel.
