Before becoming the host of The Jerry Springer Show, Jerry Springer had an impressive career.
He was on the Cincinnati City Council beforeserving asthe Mayor of Cincinnati from 1977 to 1978.
Springer then moved on to being an anchor at a local news station.
In 1982, Springer ran for governor of Ohio but lost the Democratic nomination.
While Springer was lovable and relatable, his inital show wasn’t popular.
