Along the way, they encounter iconic figures and ultimately confront an evil force.
The film combines elements of history, humor, and fantasy in a visually distinctive narrative.
Still, theTime Banditscast features diversity in different ways.
Additionally, the leader of the time bandits is Penelope, a woman.
Yet, as the story unfolded, it was revealed that the time bandits were more than surface-level stereotypes.
This change was an improvement from the originalTime Banditsmovie, as it wasnt just about Kevin.

The story follows a young boy named Kevin who joins a group of dwarfs on a journey through various historical eras, using a stolen map to navigate different time periods. Along the way, they encounter iconic figures and ultimately confront an evil force. The film combines elements of history, humor, and fantasy in a visually distinctive narrative.
In the movie, Kevin is an only child, making him the only main character from his timeline.
The development of Kevin and Saffrons relationship was a nice change that elevated Kevins character in theTime Banditsshow.
In the movie, the historical figures include Napoleon Bonaparte and Robin Hood.
King Agamemnon plays the biggest role, adopting Kevin after he helped him kill a Minotaur.
If theTime Banditsshow had followed the exact same formula the movie had, it wouldnt have felt original enough.
Changing the historical figures was an easy way to differentiate the projects.
Kevin and the time bandits meet the couple when they first travel back in time to the Middle Ages.
The couple shows up again on the Titanic later in the movie.
They are used inTime Banditsas comedic relief, as they act as if they are the main characters.

Their appearances are brief but notable.
Its also one of Shelley Duvalls funniest performances alongside Michael Palin.
Yet, Vincent and Pansy dont exist in theTime Banditsmovie, and they dont have an equivalent either.

They arent necessary to the plot, though they are entertaining.
To do this, Evil manipulated reality.
He even took control of one of the time bandits and lured them into the Fortress of Ultimate Darkness.
This plan would involve him wiping all history and every living thing on Earth to start over.
This plan is regarded as bad as Pure Evils plan to take over and make the world miserable.
It wasnt a part of theTime Banditsmovie, as Supreme Being was a much nicer character.
However, he doesnt die inthe Taika Waititi Apple TV+ show.
Pure Evil doesnt kill anyone except for his minions who go against him.
He doesnt even torture Kevins parents despite holding them captive.
Kevin eventually does this in theTime Banditsseason 1 finale, or at least thats what Pure Evil thought.
With the different ending toTime Banditsseason 1, Kevin never had a polaroid.
This also could have been a symptom of the different time periods the stories took place in.
Kevins parents were obsessed with technology and fought over what gadgets they couldnt save in the fire.
Fianna coaled them when trying to get to Kevin and the time map.
This gaveTime Banditsseason 1 a happier ending than the movie.
Eleven-year-old Kevin joins a group of time-traveling thieves on a comedic and perilous adventure.
