The exposition is important but too repetitive and obvious, makingDevil May Crychoke on its pacing from the start. However,the glimmers of originality and unexpected depth in the series' final episodes were a pleasant surprise. However, it’s difficult to wait for these more exciting elements to make an appearance. If Netflix does renew the project, I would be interested in seeing where it goes. However,Devil May Cryis bigger than just Dante....

1923 Warning! Renaud became extremely similar to Teonna in1923season 2, partly because he saw himself reflected in Marshal Kent. Throughout their journey, Kent drew parallels between himself and Renaud. Kent just took it to a harsher extreme. Renaud could justify almost anything by viewing his own actions as a necessary evil to serve God’s will. Renaud’s last straw was watching Kent kill Pete Plenty Clouds in cold blood. By that point, even murder was on the table....

Looking back, it’s obvious that Shauna’s villain arc was foreshadowed from the very beginning. And Melissa’s observations about Shauna’s life and choices are astute. It’s nice to seesomeonefinally call her out on her affair with Jeff in season 1. The latter is somewhat surprising, as it’s one of the earliest signs that Shauna is incredibly flawed. And it feeds her guilt in both of the show’s narratives. You create your own problems....
